Vaunix Lab Brick LDA series RF/microwave portable and programmable digital attenuators include several 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm bi-directional step attenuators with calibrated operation in bands up to 40 GHz. These low cost, portable, USB powered, hand-held wireless test devices are ideal for engineering and production test laboratories, wireless network testing, and integration into high speed automated test equipment (ATE) benches, racks, stands, and systems. They’ve been proven to be the best attenuation instruments for the rapid and efficient development of wireless fading simulators for Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), and Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) wireless communication systems, such as WiMAX, 3G, 4G, and LTE. They’re also a top solid state choice of wireless test engineers exploring and deploying 5G wireless systems and next-gen WIFI 6 products.
For more details about our digital step attenuators, packaging options, and what’s included with each device, see below.
Lab Brick LDA Series portable and programmable digital step attenuators are designed with advanced solid-state attenuator technology for excellent repeatability of attenuation values. These USB powered and controlled, hand-held wireless test devices require no additional DC supply voltage. They’re portable and are easily programmable for fixed attenuation or swept attenuation ramps directly from the included Microsoft Windows or macOS compatible GUI.
Dual port Lab Bricks are housed in portable yet rugged aluminum enclosures, some measuring 3.86 x 2.52 x 1.35 in. (98 x 54 x 34 mm) and weighing just 0.5 lb. (0.23 kg), and others measuring 4” x 2.5” x 0.95” (101.6 x 63.5 x 23.9 mm) and weighing 0.6 lbs (0.27 Kg). (See each model’s detail page for mechanical specifications). 4 port Lab Bricks measure 7.3” x 2.5” x 0.95” (185.4 x 63.5 x 24.1 mm) and weigh 0.9 lbs (0.41 Kg). All Lab Brick LDA Digital Attenuators are RoHS compliant.
Each Lab Brick attenuator comes with a USB flash drive containing the GUI software, Microsoft Windows SDK, macOS SDK, Linux SDK, LabVIEW driver, Python examples, and a digital version of the programming guide, as well as a 6- ft. USB cable. Optional length cables, battery packs, and ruggedized USB hubs are available separately. All Lab Brick products come with Vaunix's committed customer support.

The technologies used to usher in next-generation 5G and Wi-Fi 6E wireless networks are revolutionary in terms of spectrum usage, component and IC advancement on the substrate and packaging. In order to meet the seemingly unreachable 5G key performance indicators
Before there is widespread adoption of any 5G technologies, there comes the need for extensive research and development of the networking and signal management approaches that will enable them. Currently considered one of the leading enablers, small-cell, millimeter-wave, and massive Multi-input
Vaunix has recently announced the release of two new multiport Lab Brick Digital Attenuators—the 4-port LDA-802Q, and the 8-port LDA-802-8. These portable and programmable RF/microwave test devices operate from 200 MHz to 8 GHz (L-, S-, and C-band)
